A management consultant who grades AI models' business analyses and recommendations against real engagement standards.
What you would do
- Compose case prompts from engagements you led, including client situation, data constraints, and reference answers
- Grade model-built market sizing analyses for logical segmentation and realistic assumptions
- Evaluate financial driver trees and profitability models for accuracy and completeness
- Assess whether business recommendations actually follow from the data and constraints
- Flag clean-looking analyses that lack rigor or would not survive partner or client scrutiny
Who they want
- Professional experience leading strategy, operations, transformation, or functional consulting engagements
- Track record of owning client-facing analysis and recommendations, not just supporting slide production
- Clear written communication to explain consulting judgments and reasoning
- Comfort working with ambiguous evaluation criteria and flagging unclear instructions
- Background in one of strategy, pricing, operations, organizational design, or PMI
Main skills
What the interview asks about
1.Case writing and reference answers
Your case prompts and reference answers define the standard for AI evaluation. Poorly structured cases or incomplete reference solutions corrupt the entire grading process.
For example: “You led a pricing engagement where a B2B SaaS client's margin fell 4 points from customer mix shift toward lower tiers. Write this as a formal case prompt with data and constraints.”
2.Market sizing segmentation logic
Market sizing quality depends entirely on whether segments are meaningful and assumptions defensible. Poor segmentation makes all downstream numbers wrong.
For example: “A model segments a logistics market by region and size, finding 20% addressable market, and recommends pursuing only top 3. Is the segmentation sensible and consistent?”
3.Driver tree accuracy and completeness
Financial driver trees must capture all material cost and benefit impacts. Missing a significant driver invalidates the entire profitability recommendation.
For example: “A PMI analysis shows consolidating two regional operations cuts headcount 35%, saves $50M annually. What about severance, systems consolidation, and transition timing?”
4.Recommendation consistency with analysis
Models often produce internally consistent analyses that don't actually support their recommendation, or ignore constraints clients have explicitly mentioned.
For example: “A model recommends raising prices by 15 percent based on demand elasticity analysis. The numbers are correct, but competitive positioning was not discussed. Would this recommendation survive a client steering committee focused on maintaining market share?”
5.Partner review standards and rigor
Recommendations must be defensible to senior partners questioning assumptions, recognizing trade-offs, and probing for gaps. Polished outputs often hide weak reasoning.
For example: “A transformation analysis: $500M revenue, 15% EBITDA, recommendation to reach 18% through operations. Driver tree lacks implementation costs and risk. Withstand partner scrutiny?”
A task you may get
Write a case prompt from a real engagement including client situation and constraints, then grade a model-built market sizing and profitability analysis on segmentation logic, driver tree completeness, and whether the recommendation follows from the data.
How to prepare
- Gather a case from your consulting experience with complete client context, data, and your original recommendation
- Review recent strategy consulting work or case studies to understand quality standards for analysis and writing
- Practice explaining a complex consulting judgment clearly in 1-2 paragraphs, as if briefing a client on a trade-off
- Think through which parts of your analyses would survive partner pushback and which would need refinement
